ERROR: 'Your email can't be sent because Internet Mail [SMTP] isn't configured ...'

Summary

We've resolved the error when you email documents from Sage 50 Accounts v33.1. 'Your email can't be sent because Internet Mail [SMTP] isn't configured. Would you like to configure your email provider now?'

Description

When you email any document from Sage 50 Accounts v33.1, you'll see this error:

'Email provider configuration

Your email can't be sent because SMTP isn't configured. Would you like to configure your email provider now?'

Email provider configuration error message with Yes and No buttons.

If you press Yes on the error, then configure again, the email sends but the error reoccurs.

The software normally retains the configured email settings.

Resolution

NOTE:

We've resolved this issue in v34 and above of Sage 50 Accounts. Download and upgrade to the latest version.

Download and replace the .dll file

  1. Download the fixed Sage.Query.Engine.DataProvider.Line50.dll file.
  2. In Sage 50 Accounts, go to Help then select About.
  3. In the Program Details section, open the Program Directory link.

This opens the File Explorer window.

  1. Close Sage 50 Accounts and keep the File explorer window open.
  2. In this window, locate the Sage.Query.Engine.DataProvider.Line50.dll file.
  3. Right-click this file and select Rename.
  4. Change the .dll at the end of the filename to .old. The file will now show Sage.Query.Engine.DataProvider.Line50.old
  5. On your keyboard, press the Windows key + E to open another File Explorer window.
  6. Locate the Sage.Query.Engine.DataProvider.Line50.dll in your downloads folder.
  7. Right-click this file and select Copy.
  8. Go to the File Explorer window where you renamed the file in step 7.
  9. Right-click a blank space then select Paste.

This pastes the downloaded file into the program directory. 

  1. Re-open Sage 50 Accounts and email your document.
