Mandatory dimensions not populating when adding a new manual stock count line

Summary

An issue has been identified in Sage X3 2023 R1 where no dimension information is created for product lines manually entered in a stock count.

Cause

If the product line is created automatically via Inventory Sessions > by pressing the “Generation” button, the default dimensions are loaded correctly.

However, if a product line is added manually in Counts function the default dimensions are not loaded; they all come through as blank even when the Dimension defaults STKINVD is configured and defined at product level.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed from Sage X3 2024 R2 (12.0.36) under the reference X3-299120.

As part of the fix the Product identifier in Default Dimensions (GESCDE) for STKINVD has been changed from '[M]ITMREF(nolign-1)' to 'func TRTX3CPT.GETITMIDT(nolign-1)'

NOTE:

For upgraded systems the default dimension change is made at the X3 folder level so not to impact a customer's setup. The solution is to review and bring the default dimension code STKINVD from the X3 folder to the child folder manually.
