SMO template importing incorrect dimensions on product lines

Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

Incorrect analytic dimensions written to STOJOU when miscellaneous entries are imported using the standard SMO template.

Description

When using the standard SMO template to import miscellaneous issues the first products dimension information is written correctly.  All the rest of the product lines on the import are given the same dimension data as the first regardless of their values

Resolution

This issue is fixed in Sage X3 2026 R1 under reference X3-363570.

The change has been made at the X3 folder level so not to impact a customer's setup.  The solution is to bring the default dimension code STJSOR from the X3 folder to the child folder manually.

To resolve the issue in previous versions:

Go into Default Dimensions (GESCDE)

Select STJSOR from the left list

On the tab "Identifiers", update the Product value with [F:ITM]ITMREF (instead of [M]ITMREF)

Steps to duplicate

1. Check the company dimension set-up

2. Check Default Dimension (GESCDE) for STJSOR For each product Check values for Cost Centre, Project and Product and set them to Product if not already set

3. Create three new products. For each product set different values for the dimensions

4. Create Misc Receipt for 10x each product

5. Create a Misc Issue for 1x each product and on the ellipsis of each line go to Modifications of Issues.  From that screen click on the menu icon in the top right and select Dimensions, note that the dimension for each line are correctly picked up from each product

6. Usage – Import/Export - Export – Select the SMO template and enter a criteria so that only your new issue is exported

7. Open your export file in notepad and remove the document number but leave all other information the same and save it as a new file

8. Usage – Import/Export – Import – Select the SMO template and select your new file

9. Go back to Stock – Misc Issues and go to your new imported issue. Click on the ellipsis of each line and select Modifications of Issues and from that screen click on the menu icon in the top right and select Dimensions.  Note that the first line has the correct dimensions but the other two incorrectly display the dimensions of the first
