Communication: Sage MTD for VAT Adaptor update

Sage 200

We’re resuming the migration of all Sage 200 - Sage MTD for VAT Adaptor licences into our subscription system.

To support this, we’ll launch an update to the standalone version of the Adaptor on 18 November 2025.

Note: This doesn’t affect the in-product MTD submission feature.

What customers need to do

Customers must install this update by 31 December 2025. This will allow them to continue making MTD submissions through this standalone tool. When they open the Adaptor, they’ll see a prompt and clear guidance to complete the update.

Next steps

After installing the update, Sage will validate licences against the Sage 200 version on the customer’s computer, not the version in our records.

We’ll then begin migrating licences into our subscription system from approximately January 2026.

What you need to do

Encourage customers using the standalone Sage MTD for VAT Adaptor with Sage 200 to complete the upgrade when prompted.

If a customer no longer needs the standalone tool:

1. Complete the downgrade form.
2. Uninstall the Adaptor using Add/Remove programs on the customer’s computer. Look for ‘Sage MTD for VAT’.
