How to use the new Tap to Pay on iPhone feature to accept payments directly on your Sage Accounting invoices using an Apple device.
Description
The Tap to Pay on iPhone feature allows businesses to accept payments using Stripe, directly through the Sage Accounting mobile app.
Before you start
- Link a Stripe account to your Sage Accounting business
- Enable Tap to Pay on iPhone for your account
- Make sure you're using the iPhone XS or later
- Your iPhone should be running iOS 16.4 or later
Other notes
- Sage Accounting does not support this feature in Ireland yet
- On iOS devices, payments over £100 require the customer to enter their PIN
- Tap to Pay on iPhone is available as a payment option directly on invoices
- We currently only accept payments from invoices. We don't accept Other Payments yet
- A minimum payment amount of 30p applies for the UK
Resolution
Access Tap to Pay on iPhone on an invoice
- Open an existing invoice in your Sage Accounting mobile app.
- Select the Tap to Pay on iPhone button to enable card payment for that invoice.
Payment limits
For payments over £100, your customer will need to enter their PIN.
Complete the transaction
- Hold your customer's card to the back of your device to initiate the payment.
- Follow any prompts that appear to complete the transaction.

After the payment has been fully processed. The invoice status will update automatically to reflect the payment.
