ARM computers are becoming increasingly popular but they're incompatible with Sage Software.
A core part of all computers (laptops or desktops) is the Central Processing Unit (CPU). In recent years, ARM-based CPUs have become more popular due to their power efficiency.
ARM-based CPUs are architecturally different from more traditional x86/x64 CPUs.
This means that Sage software, for example Sage 50 Accounts, won’t work on a computer, which has an ARM-based CPU. Some examples of ARM-based CPUs and devices are:
ARM Devices:
- HP OmniBook X
- Lenovo Yoga Slim 7x
- Dell XPS 13
- Microsoft Surface Laptop
- Microsoft Surface Pro 11
- Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Edge
- Acer Swift 14 AI
- HP EliteBook Ultra
- ASUS Vivibook S15
ARM CPUs:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite
- Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus
CAUTION: Consult with your IT equipment supplier or follow the steps below to check if you have an ARM CPU.
How to check your CPU type
NOTE: These are steps for the Windows 11 Operating System.
- Click Start and then click Settings.
- In the System section, scroll to the bottom of the list and click About.
- Expand the Device Specifications section, and check the System type:

You'll see either x64-based processor, x32-based processor or ARM-based processor. -
Sage desktop software does not support ARM-based processors.
