ERROR: 'File not imported'

Summary

How to resolve bank statement import errors in Sage Accounting.

Description

If you encounter an Error: 'File not imported' message when importing a bank statement, check the error table to find out the cause.

  1. Check the Reason column lists the cause of each error.
    See the example below.
Four columns containing the headers: Transaction Number, Column Name, Data and Reason. Then five rows of data related to the errors.
  2. Correct the errors in your file and re-upload.

Troubleshooting tips

  • Remove any line breaks from descriptions
  • Open the file in notepad to review the formatting
  • Blank columns or rows are easier to spot in a text editor
