When migrating from a previous version to V12, you find that the miscellaneous table data from X3.ATABDIV is added into the newly migrated child folder, adding entries to the customer LIVE data. For example, tables 20, 30, 40 contain spurious data which is migrated with any folder migration.
Setting the COPY flag to "No" on the child folder before migration, or setting the "Changeable" flag on the miscellaneous table definition (GESADV) makes no difference to this behavior.
For example, when you navigate to Development, Data and Parameters, Miscellaneous tables, Data (GESADI) you check table 20 on the LIVE customer data folder and find additional entries are added from the corresponding table from the V12 X3 folder.
This behavior is intentional, as there can be new or updated data required for the new version that would otherwise be missing.
Sage R&D are currently evaluating if all the data in the X3 folders miscellaneous tables are essential and will ensure the minimum data set is included in a future release. Sage fix reference X3-302741 is being used to track this requirement.
CAUTION: Use caution when working with the below product functionality. Always create a backup of your data before proceeding with advanced solutions. If necessary, seek the assistance of a qualified Sage business partner, network administrator, or Sage customer support analyst. In the meantime, if your customer is adversely impacted by this behavior the only options would be to either manually update the X3 folder data to remove unneeded data before your migration (which is not recommended nor supportable from Sage Support perspective) or manually fix the data on the customer LIVE folder data as part of a migration process.
