Income Tax Summary Report (SA103 short)

Summary

Use the Income Tax Summary Report in Sage Sole Trader to help you complete the self-employment section of your Self Assessment tax return. The report matches the HMRC short form (SA103S).

Description

Use this report to help you complete your SA103s report, you can't directly submit this report to HMRC.

Before you start:

  • Check your Draft transactions and add categories to save them to Completed
  • Separate any non-allowable expenses. HMRC has strict rules about allowable business expenses, so review their guidance
  • Apply any other accounting adjustments. The report doesn’t include all values needed for your tax return

Resolution

Run the report

  1. Go to Sole Trader.
  2. From the Reports tab, select Income Tax Summary (SA103 short). The report generates category totals.
  3. Select Copy amount for each category and paste the value into the matching field on your tax return.

Export the report

  1. Select the Export as dropdown.
  2. Choose a format (CSV, PDF, or Excel).
  3. The file saves to your browser’s downloads folder.
