Summary
Description
When you submit a Full Payment Submission (FPS) to HMRC using your software, the Last FPS column updates to reflect this.
Sometimes, the Last FPS date is blank for one or more employees after you send a full payment submission that included them.
Resolution
The steps you need to take depend on whether HMRC have already received the submission in question.
NOTE: If you're not certain if HMRC have received a submission, check your HMRC online account or contact HMRC.
Select the relevant option below for your next steps:
▼ HMRC received the submission
Don't submit another live FPS. If you did, this risks duplication of the values that HMRC hold.
If HMRC have the data for the employee in question, complete a dummy FPS. This updates your Last FPS date without sending the data to HMRC again.
After you complete the dummy FPS, check the Last FPS date. If it's still blank, contact Sage technical support.
NOTE: If HMRC received the original submission and you've since submitted another live submission, HMRC now have duplicated FPS values. Visit our when you need to contact HMRC to correct liability article to find out more.
▼ HMRC haven't received the submission
Try again to submit an FPS as normal. Check whether the Last FPS date updates:
- If the date updates, check HMRC receive the submission, and if so, proceed as normal
- If the date doesn't update, contact Sage technical support
