This issue can occur after you've installed your update to v29 of Sage 50 Accounts. When you then load Sage 50 Payroll, you’ll find the software closes before you're able to select a company.
This occurs because of an issue with a file that your payroll software uses.

As this issue is from a particular file, you can resolve the issue by replacing it with a working version.
To resolve this, simply follow the steps to download and place the required file below:
- Close Sage 50 Payroll and Sage 50 Accounts on your computer.
- Click the link below:
- Download SGLch32.dll >
TIP: If you're prompted to Run or Save this file, click Save.
- Download SGLch32.dll >
- Open your Downloads folder and right click SGLch32.dll then click Copy.
- Browse to C:\Windows\SysWow64.
- Right click within this folder and click Paste.
You can now open payroll and log in as normal.
Issue persists
If you can’t download and place the file above, or still having an issue, reinstall Sage 50 Payroll.
When you reinstall your payroll software, the installer replaces the problem file.
