I can't log in to payroll after installing 50 Accounts v29

What to do if you can't log in to Sage 50 Payroll since upgrading to v29 of Sage 50 Accounts.

Description

This issue can occur after you've installed your update to v29 of Sage 50 Accounts. When you then load Sage 50 Payroll, you’ll find the software closes before you're able to select a company. 

This occurs because of an issue with a file that your payroll software uses.

Let's run through how to resolve this.

Resolution

Sage 50 Accounts fixes this issue in version v29.0.286.0. Install it now if you haven't already, Find out more  

As this issue is from a particular file, you can resolve the issue by replacing it with a working version.

To resolve this, simply follow the steps to download and place the required file below:

  1. Close Sage 50 Payroll and Sage 50 Accounts on your computer.
  2. Click the link below:
  3. Open your Downloads folder and right click SGLch32.dll then click Copy.
  4. Browse to C:\Windows\SysWow64.
  5. Right click within this folder and click Paste.

You can now open payroll and log in as normal.


Issue persists

If you can’t download and place the file above, or still having an issue, reinstall Sage 50 Payroll.

When you reinstall your payroll software, the installer replaces the problem file.
