Known Issue: Blank company list after upgrading to v29 or above

Summary

We're investigating an issue in Sage 50 Accounts v29 and above.

Description

After upgrading to Sage 50 Accounts v29 or above, the company list is blank on the Company selection window. This is because the company file doesn't copy to the new settings directory.

Resolution

To resolve this issue: 

  1. On the computer where you access Sage Accounts, press the Windows key + E.
  2. Browse to the file called COMPANY in the relevant folder path below:
    Version Company file location
    Sage 50 Accounts v33 and above C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\Vxx     Where xx is the version of your software. For example, v33.
    Sage 50 Accounts v26 to v32 C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\20xx    Where xx is the year of your software. For example, v32 is 2026.
  3. Right-click the COMPANY file and select Copy.
  4. Close Sage software.
  5. Browse to the Company file location shown above for the version you've installed.
  6. Right-click and Paste the COMPANY file into the relevant folder.
  7. Open Sage 50 Accounts.
