How to create and understand the CIS Suffered Report in Sage Accounting

Description

The CIS Suffered Report shows a summary of the CIS deductions your contractors withheld.

  • It shows a breakdown of CIS deductions individual contractors paid to HMRC on your behalf
  • Use it to reconcile payments your contractors made in the period
  • It shows how much they paid for CIS labour and materials, and the amount of CIS withheld

Resolution

Create the CIS Suffered Report

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Under Construction Industry Scheme Reports select CIS Suffered Report.
  3. Enter the From and To date of the period your covering.
  4. Select Create.
  5. Select your required format, CSV or PDF Summary or the CSV Detailed Report.

You'll receive a notification from the navigation bar once the report is ready.

CIS Suffered Report explained

Once created, the report summarises the total amount of CIS suffered in the selected period. You'll see a list of individual contractors and their payments.

Contractors The name of the individual contractor who made the payments.
Payment Excl. VAT The total payments made (ex VAT) for all invoices in the selected period.
Cost of Materials Total value of CIS materials paid for in the selected period.
Cost of Labour Total value of CIS labour paid for in the selected period.
Amount Suffered The total CIS payment amount withheld for all invoices. This is the total amount the contractor will pay to HMRC on the subcontractor's behalf in the selected period.
