How to create product categories in Sage Accounting.
Description
Use categories and sub-categories to group similar products together. This helps to find product and service records more easily and helps with analysis and reporting.
TIP:
You can filter the Sales revenue report and Stock movement report by product category and sub-category.
Resolution
Create a product category
Select Products and services.
Select the New Item dropdown, then Manage Categories.
Enter the category name.
To create a sub-category, tick the Make a Sub-Category checkbox and select the parent category it falls under. Report on sub-categories individually or rolled up into a parent category.
