Learn to create a sales invoice that only contains VAT in Sage Accounting.
You need to create a VAT only sales invoice in Sage Accounting to handle VAT separately, especially for correcting errors or finalising VAT-related transactions. This ensures accurate VAT reporting and compliance.
- From Sales, select Sales Invoices.
- Select New Invoice.
- Enter the Customer, Invoice Date and Due Date details.
- Type in a Description, for example, VAT only or VAT adjustment.
NOTE:
For Accounting Plus, don't choose a Product/Service.
- In the Ledger Account list, select your usual ledger account for sales.
- Set both the Qty/Hrs and Price/Rate boxes as 0.00.
- Choose the appropriate VAT Rate.
- Input the VAT amount in the VAT* box.
- Select Save.
- Check the additional information box.
- If everything looks good, select Save again.
CAUTION:
Create a VAT-only sales invoice only if you’re VAT-registered and use it in specific cases; consult an accountant if unsure.
