Edit bank reconciled transactions

Edit a bank reconciled transaction if you reconciled it in error or if the transaction details have changed. 

Editing the Customer, Bank Account, Amount or Date (outside of the reconciliation period) on reconciled transactions will:

• remove the transaction from the reconciliation
• update the starting balance on your next bank reconciliation
• create a new transaction ready for you to reconcile again

The edited transaction will remain reconciled if you're only changing the:

• Reference Method
• Ledger Account
• Details
• VAT rate
• Date (within the reconciliation period)

You can't edit reconciled bank transfers or deposits. Reverse a bank transfer or cash deposit.

 NOTE: Editing reconciled transactions means your bank reconciliation may no longer match your bank statement. 

1. Go to Banking and open the relevant bank. 
2. From the Activity area, find your reconciled transaction.
    TIP: You'll notice the reconciled transaction if it has a tick in the Reconciled? column. 
3. Open the transaction and make your changes.
4. Once complete, select Save.
5. For unreconciled transactions, remember to include them in your next reconciliation.

 NOTE: When you view an existing reconciliation, the edited transaction shows with a Corrected label in the Corrections column.
