Sage Accounts Production Version 21.0 (UK ONLY)

Summary

This article provides instructions for downloading and installing Sage Accounts Production (SAP) v 21 manually on a single computer, if you use the software across a network there are also some steps advising how to configure the network to ensure all workstations update to the new version.

Resolution

CAUTION: This article relates to the UK version of SAP. To check if you use the UK version, in SAP, click Help and click About and then click System Information, the pre-upgrade version is v19, 20 or 20 update1  If you use the Irish version, for download steps and a link to the correct file, refer to the following article >

Standalone install

  1. Close SAP.
  2. Download the file and Run the following file >
  3. Accept the terms and click Next
  4. Click Workstation then click Next.
  5. From the Check Settings and Install window click Next
  6. When the installation has finished, when prompted, click Finish.

Network Install

  1. Open SAP
  2. Click Help and select Auto update configuration.
  3. Make a note of the Shared Updates location and close SAP. If there is no path specified, create a share on your network that all workstations can access and enter the path here. To do this you may need to refer to your local IT support.
  4. Close SAP.
  5. Download the update and place the downloaded setup.exe file into the Shared Updates location you noted or created in step 3.
  6. Open SAP, you are prompted to install the update.
  7. Open SAP on the other workstations to ensure all workstations are up to date.

If other workstations are incorrectly configured, you may see the following message when opening SAP.

We were unable to automatically locate the installer for version xxxxxx of Sage Accounts Production.

If you know where the installer is located, enter the path below and click the Update Now button Otherwise, click Cancel.

 

In this instance, browse to the setup.exe file in the shared folder as described at step 3 and click Update Now.
