Program crashes or hangs after typing text into text field

A Windows setting can cause windows with a text entry field to freeze in Sage 50 Accounts.

Windows 10

1. Close Sage 50 Accounts.
2. Click the Windows Start button then click Settings.
3. Click Devices, then click Typing.
4. Under Hardware keyboard, ensure Show text suggestions as I type is turned off.
5. Close the Settings window.

That's it. You can now reopen Sage 50 Accounts and the windows perform correctly.

Windows 11

1. Click the Windows Start button then click Settings.
2. Click/tap on Time & language on the left side and click/tap on Typing on the right side.
3. Turn off Show text suggestions when typing on the physical keyboard.
4. Turn off Multilingual text suggestions.

That's it. You can now reopen Sage 50 Accounts and the windows perform correctly.
