Sage 200 Professional - Azure Virtual Desktop: Common Support Questions

Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

This article applies to Sage 200 Professional deployed via the Sage Provisioning Portal and provides information around issues and support of the Azure Virtual Desktop application.

Resolution

Where are attachments stored by default on my Azure Virtual Desktop?

Attachments are stored on the C:\ drive in a numbered folder, the number represents the Company ID for Sage System Administration.  It is possible to specify an alternative path for your attachments via the Company Properties in the Companies menu in SSA.

Why does my Sage 200 streaming session fail to open a new browser window for WebPortal or WebWorkspaces (through the desktop Tools (cog) menu)?

This can occur if you have left the Web Portal or Web Workspaces open on a session desktop. To avoid this problem ensure that you close the browser window in you session desktop.

Why is my multifunctional printer not being recognised as a scanner in Scan and Attach Documents on my Remote Desktop when it is available locally?

This problem may be related to particular brands/models of multifunction printers and/or a bug or limitation with Windows on the Remote Desktop, it is not an issue with Sage 200. We recommend that you approach your device's manufacturer to see if they have a solution or workaround to this problem

Why is my Sage 200 steaming session still working after I have unsubscribed from the Remote Desktop?

Contrary to the confirmation message you receive when unsubscribing from the Remote Desktop, which advises that any open apps or desktops will be disconnected, you will need to manually close any Sage 200 streaming sessions too.

Why is printing to a Redirected Local Printer (physical or PDF) very slow?

This is not specific to Sage 200, and happens with printing from other apps in Remote Desktop, see this article for more information.
As a workaround when producing PDFs, it may be quicker to print to the PDF printer in Remote Desktop (not the redirected local PDF printer), then download the PDF to your local machine.

Unable to write error details to Windows event log

You may see errors that Sage 200 could not write to the Windows event log, for example if you have problems when emailing reports. To resolve this, make sure that you are signed in using a Windows account with administrator permissions. Sage 200 will then be able to write to the Windows event log.

How can I move files between my PC and the Remote Desktop app\SessionDesktop

The Azure Virtual Desktop automatically creates connections to the network drives on the machine it is installed on, these are labelled [Drive letter] on [Machine Name] (e.g. 'C on PC12345'), they can be accessed via File Explorer on the Session Desktop.
