Sage Provisioning Portal: Partner Access to Customer sites

Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

As a partner how do I get access to a customer site to deploy updates or provide assistance for a technical support case? Steps for Sage 200 Standard and Sage 200 Professional.

Description

Sage 200 Standard

NOTE: As a Sage Business Partner, customers under your account will be available to be assigned to as long as the customer gives permission via the Provisioning Portal.

NOTE: You can only assign users to a site that have registered their account and have a status of Active.

TIP: As a Sage Business Partner, we would suggest unassigning from a customers site in the Sage Provisioning Portal once support is no longer being given to avoid a large number of sites being listed in Azure Virtual Desktop on your subscription.

  1. Open Sage Provisioning Portal and log in.
  2. Select Dashboard then Site Dashboard.
  3. Select the site Name.
  4. Scroll down to the user section and select Assign User.
  5. Select the user from the drop down menu.
  6. If the user has more than one role, select the user's Role for the company access. For example, Partner Support Agent.
  7. Click Save.
  8. The customer will need to approve the access via the Sage Provisioning Portal, instructions are sent via email, example below.
  9. Once the user has granted access to the site, the customer will receive an email confirming this, example below.
  10. You will then receive an email to advise that the request has been granted after which you will be able to connect to the customers data for 72 hours.

For further information around the rules of access, see below.

  5. You will at this point receive an email with instructions on where to download the Azure Virtual Desktop application, if not installed already, click the link to install.
NOTE: This email will be sent from the address [email protected].
  6. A further email will be sent with a link to access temporary Azure Active Directory login password, clicking this link will require you to log into the Sage Provisioning Portal if not already and will display the email address and temporary password. This password will need to be changed on first login to the system.
  7. Once logged in, you should see the Azure Active Directory logins displayed on the screen, as below.

NOTE: We suggest waiting around 15 minutes prior to logging in while the user is assigned via SPP and Azure Active Directory.

  9. Enter the credentials provided in step 7, this will prompt you to change the password at this point.
  10. You can choose whether you wish to be automatically logged into other Microsoft apps with these logins, it is up to you but you can select 'No, sign into this app only' if you wish.
  11. The Sage 200 software will then be listed as an app along with the Remote Desktop application to access.

What are the rules around access?

Sage 200 Standard

  • Partner users require customer permission, the action of adding to the site will notify the customer users of the activity, prompting them to approve the request.
  • Partner users are removed from the site after 72 hours.
  • Partners should not attempt to circumvent the process by creating alternative user types.

Sage 200 Professional

  • Partner users do not require permission, but the action of adding to the site will notify the customer users of the activity.
  • Partner users are not removed from these site types.
