Administration, liquidation and insolvency

Summary

Liquidators or administrators must follow specific procedures to access client data in all Sage products.

Description

This process allows us to determine whether we can grant access to your client's data. A prerequisite to this is that you're legally appointed to deal with this matter on their behalf.

If approved, depending on the software your client was using we’ll grant you access to either:

  • Directly log in to their company and view all data if they used cloud-based products, or
  • A version of the relevant software to restore a backup of your client's data for desktop products

Desktop products

Sage doesn't hold company data for Sage 50 products. This data is held by each Sage 50 customer, for example, on their computer or on a server at their premises.

If your client uses Sage 50 software, request a backup from them as soon as possible to avoid any delays in carrying out your duties.

Confirm appointment

We require official confirmation of appointment to provide access to client data. Once submitted, we'll respond within five working days to confirm your next steps.
