Summary
Description
As part of leaving the EU, companies in both the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland will need to make the following considerations in relation to Intrastat reporting, to remain compliant with government legislation.
The following changes will already be in your software in the following variants:
- Sage 200 Professional 2020 R2
- Sage 200 Standard Online
- Sage for Education
If you do not have the above versions, you will have to make manual changes in the software as outlined below.
Resolution
CAUTION: From 1 January 2022, movements of goods between Great Britain and the EU, or Great Britain and Northern Ireland, are no longer covered by Intrastat. Northern Ireland businesses are still covered by Intrastat as part of the Northern Ireland Protocol. For more information about this and other changes, visit our Legislation Help Centre >
GB companies (England, Scotland & Wales)
Even though the UK is no longer part of the EU, as a temporary measure, companies are still required to submit Intrastat reports for goods being transported from EU to the UK (Arrivals Declarations).
The versions listed above (or later) will use the address on the Purchase Order to determine inclusion on the Intrastat arrivals report.
There is no longer a reliance on the EU check box being ticked for GB (it will still be needed for remaining EU countries) for relevant transactions to be included on the Intrastat reports. This gives manual control so that when appropriate (once you have correctly completed any in-progress submissions) the EU check box will need to be cleared for the country code for GB.
NOTE: New company databases created in the versions list above (or later) will not have GB flagged as an EU country.
NOTE: For older versions of Sage 200: GB will need to remain flagged as an EU country to generate the report.
Please see below for instruction on clear the EU check box:
