How to enter stock take information in Sage 50 Accounts.
When you do a stock take, if the quantities you actually have in stock differ to those shown in your software, it's easy to correct this using the Stock take option.
You can either post the stock take manually, or if you prefer, you can import the stock take. Let's go through each option in turn.
Post a stock take manually
With a manual stock take you can enter each stock level for the relevant products in just a few simple steps.
- Click Products and services and select the required product records then click Stock take.
- Complete the Stock take as follows:
Product Code | From the drop-down list, choose the required product code. |
Details | Your product description appears automatically. |
Date | Enter the date of the stock take. |
Ref | STK TAKE automatically appears here, however you can change this if required. |
Actual | Enter the actual number of this product that you have in stock. NOTE: Entering a value of zero indicates that you have nothing in stock and an adjustment is posted to adjust the stock to 0.00. Don't enter a zero value or leave this field blank unless you actually have zero in stock.
|
Cost Price | The cost price appears automatically. |
In Stock | The current quantity in stock in the software. |
Adjustment | The adjustment value. This is the difference between the In stock and Actual figures. If you currently have more items in stock than was previously recorded, this appears as a positive value. If you have fewer items, the adjustment figure appears as a negative value. |
TIP: If you often use the Stock take option and you want to memorise the information in this window to use at any time, you can use the memorise and recall options.
- Click Post Stock take then click Close.
That's it, adjustments in or out are posted in your stock activity to correct the stock levels.
