Summary
How to resolve this error when adding a Remote Data Access (RDA) user in Sage 50 Accounts.
Description
In Sage 50 Accounts, when you click Save after allowing a user RDA, the following message can appear:
'Attention
It was not possible to add Remote Data Access permission for <email address>.
The user record must be saved without adding their Remote Data Access.
To view these errors, click the Details dropdown below'
This happens if there's a problem with the user email address you entered.
Resolution
Try adding the user again
If available, select the Retry option. When the message details advise the service is unavailable, try again later.
Resolve the email issue
- Check that the email address is in a valid format with no spaces.
- Check if a different Administrator user or the MANAGER user can make the changes successfully.
- If the email address is associated with other users or data owners, use a different email address.
Edit the user again
Edit the record and enter a valid email address that isn't associated with other MANAGER or Administrator usernames or Remote Data Access data owners.
- To save the record, select Save user.
- Select the relevant user then click Edit.
- Select Remote Data Access.
- Select the Allow Remote Data Access checkbox.
- Enter the user details, ensuring the email address is correct.
- Click Continue then Save.
