When you first install Sage 50 Payroll, you will be asked to enter your account number, serial number and activation key. After installing an update to your software, the program will check your serial number and, if required, update your software licence.
If your computer isn't connected to the internet when you install an update to Sage 50 Payroll, or if your network security prevents access to the Sage website, you may need to enter your activation key manually.
You may also need to enter a new activation key if you upgrade your software licence, for example to be able to create more companies or have more employees within your software.
If you've installed the latest update and your Licenced version number or other licence information doesn't display what you've purchased, follow the steps below to enter your new activation key.
NOTE: If you have a subscription licence, you do not need to enter a new activation key for your software as this information is retrieved automatically. As long as your serial number is correct, you can just click Update and the latest licence information will be retrieved.
