Sage 200 Professional - Manually moving to a Open Banking ready feed

Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

The Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2), often referred to as Open Banking, took effect on 14 September 2019 and is changing the way some banks connect with accounting software across the UK and Ireland.

Description

Depending on which bank feed you use, to comply with Open Banking you may need to update your bank feeds connection. As part of this, you must follow the same application process with your bank as you did when you first set up Bank feeds.

If you have identified your Bank Feed is ending and you would like to manually onboard to an alternative feed please follow the steps below. If you cannot find a suitable feed please see our help article.

Resolution

How do I disable Sage Bank Feeds?

In the Sage 200 application, you'll need to follow the steps below for the bank account that is set up with Sage Bank Feeds:

  1. Open Cash Book > Create & Amend Accounts > Amend Bank Account Details (or select the account from the Bank Account List)
  2. Move to the E-Banking tab.
  3. Select Disable.

The bank account status will change to Disabled.

When you set up Sage bank feeds, you contacted your bank and gave your consent to transfer your banking data to Sage. If you want to stop using Sage Bank Feeds with this bank account, you should contact your bank and instruct them that you no longer want to use this service. This can take 3-5 business days to complete.

Upgrade your version of Sage 200 Professional

To make use of any new Open Banking ready bank feeds connection, you are required to either install a remastered version of Sage 200 Professional (depending on what version you currently have installed) or upgrade to the latest version of Sage 200 Professional.

To find out whether you require a remastered version or need to upgrade to Sage 200 2020 R1 please review the following article.

CAUTION: This must be done before you attempt to follow the next section on how to enable bank feeds.

Enable Sage bank feeds

To onboard again with Sage Bank Feeds, follow the steps below:

To enable Sage Bank Feeds, you must have user access to amend the Cash Book Account. See User Access for Sage Bank Feeds under F1 help.

  1. Open Cash Book > Create & Amend Accounts > Amend Bank Account Details  (or select the account from the Bank Account List and click Amend Account)
  2. Navigate to the E-Banking tab.
  3. In the Sage Bank Feeds section, select Enable.

You can't set up Sage Bank Feeds for a cash book account that already uses Supplier Payments or E-Payments

Follow the steps in the wizard. This is where you enter the details of your bank account.

When you've finished, you will need to download a form to print and complete. This authorises Sage Bank Feeds to connect with your bank account.

You can either:

  • Post the form to the address listed in the form, which may be to your bank or Sage.
  • Fax the form to the number provided in the form, which is a secure electronic fax mailbox.

If you forget where you saved the form, the PDF file is saved in the Attachments tab for this cash book account.

It takes approximately 3-5 working days for your bank to receive and process your request. After this time, come back to check the status of your bank account by going through Cash Book > Create & Amend Accounts > Amend Bank Account Details > E-Banking.

Once your bank has authorised your application, the status will change from Pending to Active and you can start using Sage Bank Feeds to download transactions.

Check the F1 help for more detailed information on this process.
