Description
Using Sage 50 Accounts, you can run the period Profit and Loss report to show the performance of your business at a point in time.
On all builds except Sage 50 Accounts Essentials, you also have access to the additional profit and loss reports in the table below.
TIP: Remember, to customise how nominal codes are grouped on your Profit and Loss report, you'll need to edit your Chart of Accounts. Find out how >

Report Name | Description | Location |
Transactional Profit & Loss | This version of the report enables you to specify a specific date range, department or transaction number. TIP: You can use this report to run a Profit and Loss for a previous financial year. Read more > | Click Nominal codes, click Reports, then click Profit & loss. |
Comparative Profit & Loss | The standard period profit & loss report, with the option to include budget and prior year figures. | Click Nominal codes, then click Comparative profit & loss. |
Departmental Profit & Loss reports | A transactional report with the option to specify a department range. | Click Departments, then click Departmental profit & loss. |
Advanced Budget Profit & Loss reports | A selection of reports with the option to include prior year, advanced budgeting and variance figures. | Click Departments, click Reports, then click Profit & loss. |
Profit & Loss (Monthly Breakdown) | Shows the profit and loss values for each month in your financial year side by side. | Click Nominal Codes, click Reports, then click Profit & loss. |
Profit & Loss Quarterly reports | The actual, prior year and budget values for quarter 1 of the financial year. It also displays the budget variance. | Click Nominal Codes, click Reports, then click Nominal budgets. |
Income and Expenditures (Charities) | With the charities option enabled, you can run this report for a specific range of funds. | Click Charitable funds, then click Profit & loss. |
