When accessing Sage 200 CRM, the following error message may appear along the top of the screen in a yellow banner:
‘You are using an unregistered version of Sage CRM. Please register your version of Sage CRM’
This error can occur when the site has exceeded their maximum number of license registrations or the site is unable to communicate with the licensing server.
The maximum number of registration attempts can be increased by technical support, however, in many cases resetting IIS on the CRM application server will resolve the issue. This is because an IIS reset will initiate an automated call to be made to license the application.
As an IIS reset will impact all IIS dependent software on the CRM application server, including Sage 200, ensure all users are logged out of all relevant software prior to running resetting IIS.
If the issue persists following an IIS reset on the CRM application server, please follow the steps below to manually register the user’s license.
If the issue persists following an IIS reset, and you receive an error when attempting to manually register the product, the license may have exceeded the maximum number of registration attempts, by default this is set to 5.
To check this, you will need to raise a ticket with Sage 200 CRM support, ensuring to include details of the error message and the client’s license key.
To attain the client’s license key:
Further details on raising cases via case management can be found here.
As the error message is cosmetic and has no functional impact on the application, these incidents will be assessed as severity 5.
