Summary

How to set the F12 shortcut key in Sage 50 Accounts to point to a webpage of your choice.

Description

By default, when you press the F12 when in your software, it opens Sage Report Designer. If you prefer, you can change this to open a webpage instead. For help at your fingertips, we recommend setting it to open the Sage Help Centre. Alternatively you could open a useful Sage knowledgebase article, or perhaps the HMRC or Revenue website. Let's take a look.

Resolution

  1. Click Tools, click Options then click the Environment tab.
  2. In F12, enter cmd /c start [your web address]
    For example:
    • To open the Sage Help Centre, enter cmd /c start https://my.sage.co.uk/public/help.aspx#/customer/support/accounts
    • To open www.hmrc.gov.uk enter cmd /c start www.hmrc.gov.uk
    • To open our UK tax code guide, enter cmd /c start https://gb-kb.sage.com/portal/app/portlets/results/viewsolution.jsp?solutionid=210902115318253

For our Ireland tax code guide, enter cmd /c start https://ie-kb.sage.com/portal/app/portlets/results/viewsolution.jsp?solutionid=210719151047767
  3. Click OK.
TIP: To link to any Sage Knowledgebase article, open the required article then copy the path in the browser address bar.
