Enable background updates

To help with keeping your software up to date, you can enable background updates.

With this enabled, your software can download and install small updates while closed, normally within seven days of us releasing the update.

To check you have background updates enabled:

1. In Sage 50 Payroll, select Tools on the main toolbar.
2. Then go to Background Updates.
3. Select the Turn on Background Updates (recommended) checkbox.
4. Select OK.

When we make a background update available, your software now updates automatically while closed.

From time to time, you still receive updates to install. This happens when we release a software update that's too large to be a background update.
