Access to Sage Accountant Cloud

On 31 May 2021 we're withdrawing Sage Accountant Cloud and we'll switch you to Partner Edition. Rest assured, you'll still be able to manage and onboard clients for Accounting, Payroll, Final Accounts, Corporation Tax, and Personal Tax.

The latest release of Sage Accountant Cloud, includes features to support you with MTD (Making Tax Digital).

What's new and improved

This update contains the following features:

  • MTD: Agent Service Account – this will allow key practice information relating to your Agent Service Account to be stored within Accountant Cloud read more..
  • MTD: HMRC API integration - Record the agent authorisations & registrations you have in place for each client read more..
  • MTD: VAT filing tool (MTD Adapter) allowing filing VAT100 for spreadsheet clients – This allows you to file VAT returns directly to HMRC for clients using spreadsheets or where bookkeeping solution doesn’t support VAT submission read more..
  • Set preferred default Client List – choose your own default view for your client list for when you log into Accountant Cloud.
  • Create & manage relationships between Clients and Contacts - you can now assign a relationship between 2 clients, for example if they are associated with 2 different businesses; this allows you to have a complete picture of your clients read more..
  • Notifications – within Sage Accountant Cloud you can now set tasks and reminders for a specific date and time, receiving a reminder notification when this task is due.

New features introduced so you can self-serve
  • Invite Client button allows you to grant your client access to purchased Accounting, Start or Payroll units.
  • You can change the client Business Name and Email Address on the Accounting, Start or Payroll licences to the actual client name (amended from the dummy name) read more..

Things to be aware of 

Contained within this release is a new Submission Management permission that has to be enabled to allow a user access to the VAT data. Please update existing user permissions for any users needing to file VAT returns read more..


How to download the latest version

Here at Sage we will complete the majority of the update at our end. The next time you log in, you will be prompted to follow a wizard to configure the changes – it is recommended that this wizard is followed when offered to ensure you benefit from all of the new features of the release.
