How to Re-license the Making Tax Digital (MTD) Submissions module

Summary

When you initially open the Making Tax Digital (MTD) Submissions module you will be prompted to enter an account number and serial number to activate the module. If the application later experiences issues that require you to re-enter these credentials, please follow the below steps to remove the existing information. You will then be prompted to enter this information when you next load the module.

Resolution

  1. On the machine you have installed the module, browse:

    C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Sage\SageMTDBridge

  2. Rename Entitlements folder and MTDBridgeCredentials.xml file.

    NOTE: Do not delete/rename the Submissions folder as this contains all previous VAT returns submissions to HMRC.

  3. Open the Making Tax Digital Submissions Module.
  4. When prompted enter the correct Account Number and Serial Number.
  5. Once module has been re-activated delete the previously renamed Entitlements folder and MTDBridgeCredentials.xml file.

TIP: Although the module can be activated using the Sage 200 Serial Number we recommend you use the MTD Module Serial Number and Customer Account Number to avoid issues caused by registration version mis-matches.
