'Failed to read licence file' error after installing latest .Net update

Resolution

We've had reports of sites experiencing the following error when trying to access Sage 200 Extra or System Admin:

  • 'Failed to read licence file'

We've determined that recent updates for .Net, including .Net 4.6.2, .Net 4.7 and Windows Update KB4014606 for .Net 4.6/4.6.1, have resulted in a conflict with Sage 200 Extra. This seems to impact Sage 200 Extra 2013, 2013 R2, 2015 and 2016 with Windows Server 2008/2008 R2 and Windows 7 when used as a Server installation.

We've produced hot fixes that resolve this conflict which need to be installed on all sites affected.
