Description
In Sage Corporation Tax, you can transfer profit and loss data from SAP and SAPA directly into the profit and loss account in your software. This allows you to save time by not having to re-enter your data.
If the customer already exists in Sage Corporation Tax, your client code in the Corporation Tax and the SAP or SAPA must match exactly (including any upper or lower case characters).
Resolution
Customer already exists in Sage Corporation Tax and you wish to export and import the data from from SAP
Export the data from SAP
- Open the client in Sage Accounts Production.
- From the menu bar, click Tools, then click Export.
- Click Tax Export, then click Corporation Tax.
- From the selection boxes, click Export, then click Next.
- If you'd like, you can override the start and dates.
- Confirm the client reference in the bottom box is the same as it is in Sage Corporation Tax, then click Next.
- Select the level of analysis to export to Sage Corporation Tax, then click Next.
- Click Finish, then log in to Sage Corporation Tax.
To import into Sage Corporation Tax
- On the Client Dashboard click Import Now where the software advises there is "P&L information ready to import"
TIP: If the 'new period' doesn't exist, open the previous period and from the Client Dashboard click 'Add Period'. You will now be in the new period, but check this prior to proceeding so you do not overwrite previous period data.
- Click Import Now. Highlight the import, then click Import.
- Highlight the import, then click Import. If there is more than one import listed you will need to delete duplicates.
- A message appears informing you that any data in the profit and loss will be overwritten, click Yes, then click OK.
- Check the profit and loss do make sure your data has imported.
Customer already exists in Sage Corporation Tax and you are exporting your data from SAPA
To export your data from SAPA
- Open Sage Accounts Production Advanced.
- From the menu bar, click Tools, then click Sage Links, then click Export to Sage Corporation Tax.
- Confirm Sage Corporation Tax is selected and click Next, then click Next again.
- From the Sage Corporation Tax wizard, click Next.
- If you'd like, you can override the start and dates.
- Confirm the client reference in the bottom box is the same as it is in Sage Corporation Tax, then click Next.
- Select the level of analysis to export to Sage Corporation Tax, then click Next.
- Click Finish, then log in to Sage Corporation Tax.
To import into Sage Corporation Tax
- Once inside Sage Corporation Tax, go to View All Companies, then click into the relevant client and period.

Client does not already exist in Sage Corporation Tax
- In Sage Corporation Tax, open the 'My Dashboard' screen.
- In the section called 'Imports' there should be at least 1 file highlighted in the Accounts data ready to import.
- Click 'Import Now', select the data to import then click the import button.
CAUTION: If there are multiple imports waiting for the same client you will get a warning that it is a 'Duplicate' and will need to delete the duplicates.
NOTE: If there are companies in the the 'Companies ready to import' section on My Dashboard - these are old imports from our old Corporation Tax software and are unlikely to be recent imports. Imports here can cause 'duplicates' in other screens and should be deleted if they are no longer relevant.
