This guide explains how to optimise your data to reduce the size of your backups in Sage 50cloud Payroll.

Description

The Optimise option compacts your database to reduce the size of your backups. It also helps to maintain organised, error-free data, which improves reporting and performance.

We recommend that you run this routine each time you open your data and before you install a software update.

Resolution

Optimise your data

  1. Close Sage 50cloud Payroll.
  2. Ensure other users aren’t logged on to the company.
  3. Open Sage 50cloud Payroll. 
  4. On the Open Company window, click the company you want to optimise.
     NOTE: If you can't open your software as far as the Open Company window, you can repair and compact your data instead. 
  5. Click Optimise.
     NOTE: Depending on the size of your data, this may take a few minutes.
     
  6. When you have optimised your data, click OK then log in as normal.
