How do I share reports across all computers?

NOTE:  Layouts are always located where your data is held.

In Sage 50 Accounts you can either view reports that are stored on your local machine, or view reports that are stored alongside your data.

By default, Sage Accounts views the reports stored locally on your computer. If you've a multi-user version of Sage Accounts, you might want to share the same reports across all computers.

Take backups of your reports

1. On the menu bar, click File then click Back up.
2. When prompted to check data, click No.
3. Make a note of the Filename and select Browse and choose a location for your backup.
4. Under File types to include in backup, clear all check boxes, except for the Report Files check box.
   
   
   
   
5. Click OK, then click Yes to continue.
6. Click OK, once complete.
7. Repeat steps 1 to 6, on any other computers that have different reports you want to share.

To set all computers to share reports

1. On the menu bar, click Settings then click Company Preferences then click Reporting.
2. Select the Use Data Path for Reports check box, then click OK.
3. Repeat steps 1 to 2 only all computers.

Restore backups of your reports

Restore the backups you took earlier, on the computers where you want the reports to appear.

CAUTION: If the backup and destination machine have reports with matching file names, the backup version will overwrite the existing report.

1. On the menu bar, click File then click Restore.
2. Click Browse and locate the backup you made earlier.
3. Click OK, then click Yes to continue , then click OK.
4. In the Logon window enter your Logon name and Password, then click OK.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4, on any other computer that you took backups on earlier.
