How to select the Sage 200 companies to synchronise with in Sales, Marketing and Service

Created on  | Last modified on

By default, sales ledger accounts from all of the companies set up within Sage 200 Extra (listed in System Administration) will be synchronised with your Sales, Marketing and Service module. It is possible to selectively synchronise data from just one or a few of the companies that are set up. Using the Active Server Page (.asp) file, you can specify the company ID numbers of the companies you wish to synchronise.

NOTE: As mentioned above, all companies created in Sage 200 Extra will synchronise with Sales, Marketing and Service by default. Therefore, if you wish to synchronise records from all companies, you do not need to follow any of the steps in this guide.

NOTE: This article has been updated to reflect the release of version 4.1 of the CRM Connector. If you are using version 3.1, please refer to the documentation that accompanies this version as the steps required are different from those described below.

Obtain company ID numbers
  1. Open Sage 200 System Administration.
  2. Select Companies to display a list of the companies currently set up within Sage 200 Extra.
  3. Make a note of the Company ID number for each company that is to be synchronised with Sales, Marketing and Service.

Amend the file
  1. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the CRM installation folder. The default folder is C:\Program Files\Sage\CRM\(CRM name) or Program Files (x86)\Sage\CRM\(CRM name) on 64-bit servers.
  2. From the installation folder, open the folder WWWRoot > CustomPages > Enbu > Framework > S200 > Custom.
  3. Open the file in Windows Notepad.
  4. Find the section of the file with the following line:

    var sDefaultCompanyId = "1";

  5. Edit the line and make sure it includes the Company ID for one of the Sage 200 companies that you wish to synchronise.

    NOTE: This entry is unlikely to require amending but it must include the ID of a company that exists in Sage 200 System Administration, preferably the company classed as the 'main company'.

  6. Find the section of the file with the following line:

    //sHardcodedCompanyId = "1";

  7. Edit the line to remove the // (comment) and include the Company ID numbers of the Sage 200 companies that you want to synchronise. For example, if you wanted to synchronise company numbers 1 and 3: sHardcodedCompanyId = "1,3";
  8. Save the file.

You can now set up the connection to Sales, Marketing and Service. For information on how to do this, please refer to this article .

CAUTION: If you wish to use the file in conjunction with Task Scheduler to arrange for a regular sychronisation of data between Sage 200 Extra and Sales, Marketing and Service, please refer to this article.
