How do I deal with a Company that has ceased trading?

Created on  | Last modified on  Highlight Matches

Summary

When a limited company ceases trading they must still file a CT600 within their final year.

Resolution

There are certain indicators which must be set within the software and final balances which must be dealt with (i.e. losses relieved or extinguished on cessation).

To enter the cessation date:
  1. Select View all companies from the quick links and open the business
  2. Select Business Activities from the navigator and select your activity
  3. Enter the Cessation date.

If you have more than one business activity that has cease, you'll need to input the date in each one individually.

If losses need to be dealt with these will need to be done in the individual business activities.

For example, for a UK Trade:

    1. Select the UK trades option in the navigator and open the relevant trade
    2. Go to the Losses tab

Here you will see three tabs were you can deal with your losses:

    • Losses this period
    • Losses b/f
    • Losses b/b
