HMRC submission error 3001: PensionCostsDefinedContributionSchemes

When filing your CT600 and Accounts online in iXBRL format, you may receive the following error : The request has not been accepted Error type: business Error number : 3001 The submission of this document has failed due to departmental specific business logic in the Body tag. Error 3001 The submission of this document has failed due to the departmental specific business logic in the Body tag.PensionsCostsDefinedContributionSchemes requires duration but its context contains an instant.

The issue occurs on the detailed profit and loss page. There are two ways to resolve.

First method :

• Launch into Sage Assisted Tagging and reopen the previous file.
• Go into the Advanced tab.
• Scroll down to the Detailed P&L.
• Click on the current year figure for Staff Pension Costs, its tag is highlighted on the left. The period is marked as Start of Current Year. This is the source of the problem.
• Click remove tag.
• Then highlight the current figure and click confirm tag on the left. Then period has changed to current Year.
• Now do the same for the prior year. This time, before reapplying the tag in the period drop down select Prior Year. Then confirm tag.
• Go back to the assisted tab and continue tagging.

Alternatively

This item should appear in step 4, Pick Details of the assisted tagging process. You may choose not to tag this item at all. That should also work but may not be a viable solution.
