Schedule check data and backups using the Backup Manager

How to use the Backup Manager in Sage 50 Accounts to schedule your check data and backups to run automatically.

Backup Manager makes managing your check data and backups simple.

Schedule these to run automatically even if you don't have your software open. You can still work while your checks and backups are running.

This means you don't need to worry about them and is a time saver with added peace of mind. 

NOTE: Ensure the computer holding your data remains on, as scheduled backups save there.

1. Log in to Sage Accounts with the Manager logon name and password.
2. Click File, click Schedule back up then click the Settings tab.
3. Enter your backup schedule settings as required.

   Check data and back up schedule	Choose what, and how often, you want to run check data, backups, or both. The time is based on the server clock, not the clock on the local computer.   NOTE: In Sage 50 Accounts v27 and below, check data isn't an option to run on its own.
   Company name	Select the companies you want the check data and backup schedule to apply to. The same schedule applies to all selected companies.
   File types to include in the backup	The system always backs up your accounts data. Select other file types to include in your backups.
   Backup location	By default, backup files save to C:\SageBackups on the computer where you store your data. Store backups on any fixed drive on your server, and if required, on the server, click Edit folder to enter a specific path. If you use Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive or Drop Box, the relevant folder appears in the drop-down to choose, which syncs to the cloud.
   Server disk space limit	Backups save automatically if there's sufficient space on your server hard drive. The backup manager will create backups where there is at least 20 GB of space. You can change this if required.

4. To save the backup schedule, click Save.

Once you've set up your schedule, you can manage your backups and check data results all in one place.

If required, you can turn off scheduled check data or backups.

1. Click File then click Scheduled back up.
2. Click Settings and clear the checkboxes as required.
