Summary
Description
In the Report Browser if you try to add a layout to Favourites, the following message appears:
'Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
Value does not fall within the expected range'
The same issue occurs for labels, letters and reports when you Use Data path for Reports.
This occurs if the company file contains a UNC path with forward slashes.
Resolution
Correct the UNC path
To resolve this, edit the company file and correct the UNC path to use backslashes.
- Close Sage Accounts, then press and hold down the Windows key and press E.
- Browse to C:\ProgramData\Sage\Accounts\XXXX, where XXXX is the software version, for example, 2024.
- Right-click the COMPANY file and click Open.
- Select Notepad, then click OK.
- Check each UNC path in the company file, and change any forward slashes to backslashes.
EXAMPLE: Change //serverPC/company.000 to \\serverPC\company.000 - Click File, then click Save.
You can now open Sage 50 Accounts and add documents to Favourites.
NOTE: This issue also occurs when the user doesn't have the required access level. To test this, log on as Manager and see if the same issue occurs. If this resolves the issue, check the user's access rights in Tools, then Access Rights.
