ERROR: 'An unknown bank was specified' or 'No banking component defined...'

Created on  | Last modified on

Summary

Clicking e-Payments or e-Reconcile in Sage 50 Accounts causes an error if the banking component is missing.

Description

When you click E-payments or E-reconcile, one of the following errors can appear:

  • 'An unknown bank was specified'
  • 'No banking component defined for this account'

Cause

This is because there's no bank component selected for e-Banking.

Resolution

Select a bank component to use e-Banking:

  1. Go to Bank accounts and double-click the required bank account.
  2. Select the Bank Details tab.
  3. In the Bank Type drop-down, choose the required bank component.
  4. Click Configure then Save.

If your bank is missing, close Sage 50 Accounts then download and install the relevant plug-in from our list of compatible banks.

Alternatively, you can access this list in Sage Accounts;:

  • Go to Weblinks then Sage e-Banking

TIP: Close Sage 50 Accounts before you install the plug-in.
