Check for updates
It's easy to install available updates from within your Sage 50 Accounts software:- On the menu bar click Help, then click Check for updates.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
You can also choose to install the updates manually. To do this, follow the steps below.
Check your current version
Important information: If you use Sage 50 Manufacturing or Sage Job Costing, please read this Important information guide before you install Sage 50 Accounts v28.1 or above.
- Open Sage 50 Accounts.
- On the menu bar click Help, then click About.
- In the Program Details section, check the version number.
- Press the Windows Key
+ R. - Enter appwiz.cpl then press Enter.
- Find the latest version of Sage 50 Accounts in the list.
- In the Version column, check the main version, for example, 26 or 27.
Once you know the version number of your software, click the relevant version in the section below to check whether it's up to date. If not, you can download the update needed.
Manually install an update
NOTE: To upgrade to the latest version, use our Install your software hub.
Select the software version you'd like to install:
The latest version is: 29.2.398.0
CAUTION: Please read this important message before upgrading to v29 if you are using Sage Job Costing or Sage Manufacturing.
- Log onto your computer as an administrator and close all software.
- If your v29 is not this exact version number, click the link below:
Download Sage 50 Accounts v29.2.398.0 >
Depending on your browser the update downloads, or click Save. - Locate and right-click Sage50Accounts_v29.2.398.0.exe, then select Run as Administrator.
- Once the installation is complete, open Sage 50 Accounts.
- On the menu bar click Help, click About.
- Under Program Details, check this now shows the latest version.
If you have Sage 50 Accounts installed on more than one computer, repeat these steps on each, including the computer that holds your data.
The latest version is: 28.1.404.0

NOTE: When upgrading to version 24.3, you need to make sure you have version 24.2 installed on all computers you're installing on. Select the version 24 you're currently using below to find the correct steps.
