Description

If you've enabled electronic notifications with HMRC, you receive notices directly to your software. Find out below how to access these notices using the IR Secure Mailbox.

Check for messages

Your software includes an option to check for messages automatically when you open the IR Secure Mailbox.

  1. Go to e-Submissions, then select e-Submission Settings.
  2. Select the Check for new messages when opening the IR Secure Mailbox checkbox.
  3. Select Save, then Close.

Open and apply a message from HMRC

 TIP: If you receive a tax code change for a future date, the software applies the code from the correct pay period. 

  1. Go to e-Submissions, then IR Secure Mailbox.
  2. If you need to check for new messages, select New Mail.
  3. Select the relevant form, then click the notice.
  4. Select Open, then click Apply.
  5. Select Yes, then Close.

View and print notice details

  1. Go to e-Submissions, then e-Submission log.
  2. Go to the Applied Mail tab.
  3. Use the drop-down lists to filter the entries in the log.
  4. Choose Print and check your printer settings.
  5. Select Print, then Close.
  6. Select Close.
