Lock or Refresh Remote Data Access

Summary

How to lock or refresh Remote Data Access (RDA). You can do this if you have a connection issue between your sites.

Description

There will be different scenarios where you'll need to lock or refresh RDA.

  • If your company data isn't in sync between your sites on Remote Data Access, you can Refresh the Remote Data Access connection to resolve this
  • If you need to edit or delete any ACCDATA files, you'll need to Lock Remote Data Access before making changes
  • You then Refresh when complete

Resolution

Lock Remote Data Access

  1. Log into Sage 50 Accounts using the manager logon.
  2. Log all other users out of Sage 50 Accounts.
    TIP: To see who's currently logged in, click Settings, then click User Management, and click Active Sessions. 
  3. Click Tools, then click Remote Data Access.
  4.  Click Lock Remote Data Access.
  5. When you lock RDA, the Lock Remote Data Access button changes to Unlock Remote Data Access. When required click this to unlock.
  6. Refresh RDA.

Refresh Remote Data Access

  1. Log into Sage 50 Accounts using the manager logon.
  2. Log all other users out of Sage 50 Accounts.
    TIP: To see who's currently logged in, click Settings, then click User Management and click Active Sessions. 
  3. Click Tools, then click Remote Data Access.
  4. Click Refresh Remote Data Access.

Your data will upload, and you're asked to log in to Sage 50 Accounts again.

NOTE: In Sage 50 Accounts v27.1 and below, you only see a Lock Remote Data Access option. To refresh, click Lock Remote Data Access, and the option changes to Refresh.
