TASBooks - Creating assembly product records

Create an assembly product record

1. Click Stock, then click Products and Services, then click Maintain Products / Services.
2. Enter a code for this assembly product.
3. Enter a description for this product.
4. In the Product Type drop-down, choose Assembly from the second drop-down list, choose Goods.
5. Complete the rest of the product record, leave the Cost options blank.
6. Click the Assembly Breakdown tab and complete the following information for up to 250 stock items:
   
   

   Code	Press F2 and select the relevant product.
   Description	The product's description automatically appears here.
   Type	The product's type automatically automatically appears
   Bin No	The product's bin number automatically appears here.
   Qty	Enter the number of this product you want to include in the assembly.
   Cost	The total cost of the product automatically populates here.

7. Click Save, click Yes, then click OK.
8. Click Cancel.

Build an assembly

This option is only available if your TASBooks licence includes the Stock Control module.

Before an assembly can be sold, or used as part of a sales order, you need to put the goods into stock.

1. Click Stock, click Stock Movement, then click Build Assembly.
2. Complete the following information:
   
   

   Code	Press F2 and select the relevant assembly.
   Description	The description of the assembly automatically appears here.
   Date	Enter the date you want the assembly to appear in stock.
   Qty	Enter the number of the assembled products you want to add to your stock.
   Max Stock	This value is made up of the number of assembled items currently in stock plus the number of possible assembled items from the regular items in stock.
   Max Available	The maximum number of assemblies you can create from the regular items in stock appears here.
   Cost Price	The standard cost the assembly automatically appears here.
   GMV	Enter a GMV number if applicable or a reference.

3. Click Save, then click OK.
4. Click Cancel.

The quantity in stock and the stock value for this assembly product automatically updates on the product record. You don't need to do anything further.
