This communication was sent 1st September 2026. Sage 200 We're contacting you because you have a valid Sage account and use, or have requested access to, the Sage 200 Application Programming Interface (API). We want to let you know about some important changes to the way we register and manage Sage 200 API access. Updated documentation, processes and guidance To support these changes, we'll publish new documentation and introduce updated processes and guidance for Sage 200 API access, including: - Users must have a valid Sage account to request and maintain API access
- Registration of all API requests under a master registration
- You need to register each developer app separately with unique credentials. Two credentials per app are available:
- Development (Test) credentials will support up to 20 authentication requests per minute
- Production credentials will support up to 600 authentication requests per minute
- Where you're the developer of an app, whether in use by a single customer or multiple customers, request the API credentials directly
- Customers shouldn’t request API credentials on a developer's behalf
Coming later in 2026 What this means for you We’ll send a separate email with your API master registration details soon (known as a serial number). The account and registration link are mandatory, and we use them to determine continued access to the Sage 200 API. You'll also need these details if you contact Sage for support or assistance relating to the Sage 200 API. Reminder You need to follow the Developer Services Licence Agreement and the Acceptable Use Policy when using the Sage 200 API. These requirements apply to all API access requests and form part of the controls we're introducing to manage API registrations. If any of your credential requests don’t align with these requirements, the Developer Services Licence Agreement or the Acceptable Use Policy, contact the Sage Software Development team by 1 October 2026 so we can review them with you.
