Sage Sole Trader uses one ledger for each income source. If you let more than one UK property, all your properties sit under a single UK property income source. One ledger for all your properties HMRC treats your UK property income as one source for Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax. Your ledger represents the overall UK property business, not each individual property. There’s no HMRC or Sage requirement to keep a separate ledger for each property. Record the income and expenses for all your properties in this one ledger. How ownership shares work Sage Sole Trader uses one ownership share across your whole UK property income source. You set this share when you set up your property business. For example: - You own 50% of all your properties: Sage Sole Trader supports this
- You own 50% of one property and 75% of another: Sage Sole Trader doesn't support this
You can change your ownership share later. For the steps, see Change the ownership percentage for your property business. Landlord features Sage Sole Trader doesn't include Sage Sole Trader supports UK landlords with straightforward needs. It doesn't include these landlord features: - Separate income and expense records for each property
- Reports for each individual property
- Different ownership shares for different properties
If you need any of these features, a specialist landlord product is more suitable. Hammock is one example of this type of product. |
