When you withdraw money from your bank account to top up your petty cash, you need to record both sides of the transaction. One records the money leaving your bank account. The other records the money arriving in your cash account.
If you use bank feeds, the bank side of the transaction appears automatically. You then record the cash side manually.

Record the bank side as a transfer
When the withdrawal appears in your bank feed:
From Transactions, go to Draft.
Find the withdrawal transaction and select Actions, then Record as transfer.
On the confirmation window, select Record transfer.
This records the money leaving your bank account.
Record the cash side manually
The cash account doesn't support bank feeds. You need to add this transaction yourself.
From Transactions, go to Draft.
Select Add, then choose Transaction.
In the Money in tab, select Transfer, then select Next.
From Choose transaction type, select Transfer, then select Next.
Enter the transaction details including the date, source, description, and amount.
TIP:
The Source is your cash account, as this is the account receiving the money.
Sage Sole Trader assigns the Bank, credit card or cash transfer category for you.
Select Save as completed, or to come back to the transaction later, select Save as Draft.
