Turn on CIS
Description

Turn on CIS if you’re a subcontractor and your customers deduct CIS from your payments.

When you turn on CIS:

  • You can only apply CIS to customers marked as contractors
  • CIS stays on for your account
  • You can set a default deduction rate for your invoices

NOTE:

CIS functionality is only available on the paid tier of Sole Trader.

Cause
Resolution
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Under Tax settings, select Turn on CIS.
  3. In the window, select Turn on and continue.
  4. Choose your deduction rate;
    • 0%- CIS Zero- Registered Subcontractor
    • 20%- CIS Registered Subcontractor
    • 30%- CIS Non-Registered
  5. Then select Save.

TIP:

You can change your deduction rate later in Settings.
